“Ready, Steady, Dig!” is runner up in this year’s Book of
the Year Awards on YouWriteOn, the Arts Council sponsored website for aspiring writers.
Not sure what that actually means in practical
terms, apart from “being a winner means you can publish as a paperback and receive
bookseller distribution for free on sites like Amazon for your book should you wish. If published by us
already you can publish a further book for free.” Yippee!!

“Ready, Steady, Dig!” and “Gnome or Mr Nice Guy” are now
available on Kindle, at a cost of 71p each (or whatever the US dollar rate is on the day you
buy). If you don’t have Kindle, you could try downloading Amazon’s free Kindle app.
29 August 2010:
The Rooks Ridge Roman Re-enactment annual gathering was a great success this year, with more
Romans getting re-enacted than ever before, even if they did have to 'phone home' sometimes.
These few images have been leaked out before 'Salve' goes to print.
27 April 2010:
"The Mice of St Goran" should be available on Amazon, and from this
website, within the next six weeks. It's a collection of short stories for children aged 4 to 10 (and adults
of any age!) set in St Goran Church, Gorran Churchtown, and all profits will be going to the St Goran Church Bell
Fund Appeal.

Great
Short Stories by YouWriteOn.Com Writers, February 2008 to October 2009, has just been published, and is now
available from Amazon. I haven't read them all myself yet, but I know there are some good stories there,
especially "Fly" by Chuck Buckner, and "The Leopard" by Brian Hodgkinson. All thirteen of
us writers involved have agreed that all our royalties from the sale of the book will go to the charity
"Sightsavers."
10 September 2009:
YouWriteOn is very kindly rushing through a second edition of
"Ready, Steady, Dig!" following its selection as a set text by the University of Dundee. I
agreed the final PDF this morning and the new version should be available from Amazon in about ten days'
time. If you want to know how the new version differs from the
First Edition, go to the Ready, Steady, Dig! page for details.
September 2009:
"Ready, Steady, Dig!", my first novel, has just been selected as a set text for the
"Books, Children and Storytelling" course run by the Continuing Education Department of the University of Dundee.
Wonderful. I'm so pleased.
September 2009:
"Gnome or Mr Nice Guy" is being published in the autumn, together with a second
edition of "Ready, Steady, Dig!" with essential corrections to the Latin (eg domines as the
plural of dominus ... I haven't stopped blushing since I spotted that...).
